Football games – they give us a reason to congregate every weekend between August and December. Throw a college football game into the mix and we’ll set up camp near the stadium and party with the best food, the best of friends and create the best of times. It’s a mix of pride, savoury foods. teamwork and can be steeped in deep traditions for each college.

Every team and their fans have their own special traditions. Some, however, take it to the next level. Here, in no specific order are the top college tailgate rankings in the opinion of several dedicated tailgating entities.

Our first contributor is Tailgater Monthly Magazine which features every imaginable topic on America’s fastest growing sport. tailgatermonthly.com lists it’s 20 top 2014 Tailgate colleges with the number one college cited as being “ablaze in football glory and deserves to top the game rail tailgating list for 2014”.

Read the countdown and the reasons for their picks here in their September/October 2014 edition. thebleacherreport.com which boasts sports journalists and bloggers covering NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, MMA, college football and basketball, NASCAR, fantasy sports and more notes that “When 90,000 fans show up for a practice game, you’ve got the right fan base for high-caliber tailgating.” But who do they list as the best colleges for tailgating in 2014?
